Pet Licenses

Rahway licenses both Cats and Dogs 

General Information

Important information for pet licenses:

  • All pets must have a current rabies vaccine in order to be licensed.
  • Pet must be 7 months of age or older.
  • Rabies Vaccine must be valid through October of licensing year.
  • Cat and Dog licensing begins January 1 of each year and expire December 31 of licensing year.
  • Cats and Dogs shall be licensed yearly.

Vaccinations & Tags

It is important to license your pet. Licensing your pet ensures that your pet has a current rabies vaccination and provides peace of mind that other pets in the community are also protected against this fatal disease. When licensing your pet you are provided a sturdy metal tag to attach to your pets collar. This tag, when placed on the collar, will provide quick identification of your pet and ensure its quick return to your family if it ever happens to get lost.
